This second version of Architect/Interior Designer Robert Couturier’s site is a re-build of the original site design (which we also created), addressing lessons learned by the company since the initial launch several years ago. The new site seeks to:
- Allow for quick & easy updating of content by internal staff;
- Leverage changes in technology (specifically Macromedia Flash) to make the site faster and more responsive;
- Retain as much of the version 1 design as possible, in order to keep the essence and soul of the original intact. (The original was a big hit, and the client was eager to improve without totally redesigning.)
- To accomplish these goals, the new site is built on an HTML foundation (as opposed to pure Flash like the previous one), which enables use of the browser’s Back button; elements such as photos are displayed immediately upon loading and are not dependent on each other for a load sequence; and every element exists as a simple image file or text file, so immediate updates are as simple as saving a new image or editing a text document.
